GIVING

Community Church relies on regular tithes and offerings from its members for the continued operations and services of the church.

WHY GIVE?

Community Church hopes you will remain faithful in supporting the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability. When members give of their time and their treasure unto the Lord, the work of God’s Kingdom continues through CCGR, both locally and in faraway places. CCGR relies on the faithfulness of its members, through their tithes and offerings, to continue the mission to which God has called us. But more importantly, to tithe to the Lord is to honor the Lord in worship. The Apostle Paul put it best when he said:

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
-II Corinthians 9:6-7

PLEDGING

Pledges from congregants during the fall Stewardship Campaign make it possible for Community Church to plan for the coming year. Your commitment of financial support is vital to funding the many programs that play such an important role in the life of CCGR and its members.

Write A Check

You may mail a check directly to the church (354 Rock Road, Glen Rock NJ 07452), or drop a check in the offering basket Sunday. Please make checks out to “Community Church of Glen Rock.”

Set Up Payment Through Your Bank

Much like paying any of your other bills, you can set up Community Church of Glen Rock on your banking online bill payment platform. The payment is then mailed to directly to the church by the bill payment vendor.

Online Giving

CCGR offers online giving, both recurring and one-time gifts, directly from your bank account or credit card. If it is not your normal practice to pay your credit card balance in full each month, the church would prefer for you to select the bank account option or a different giving method.

STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS

Please contact the Finance Administrator at the church office (201-444-4625) to make a contribution of stock to the church. If you have appreciated stock that you have owned for at least a year, giving it to CCGR may allow you multiple tax benefits: you may receive a charitable deduction on your income taxes for the stock’s fair market value and avoid capital gains taxes on the appreciated stock value.

IRA DISTRIBUTIONS

If you're over 70 1/2 years old and have to satisfy a required minimum distributions (RMD) from your IRA each year, please consider giving to CCGR and enjoying the extra tax benefit. By authorizing a distribution from one's IRA, paid directly to CCGR, members have found this satisfies the requirements of a “qualified charitable distribution,” earning tax-free treatment. This provision applies to traditional IRAs only, not 401(k)s. If you'd like to give to CCGR from your IRA, please have your distribution made payable to Community Church of Glen Rock and sent to CCGR 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock, NJ 07452, Attn: Finance Administrator.

LEGACY GIVING

Bequests and gifts of property are time-honored ways to leave a meaningful legacy to the church. In addition, a legacy gift to Community Church can help reduce your annual or estate tax bill. For assistance, contact the Finance Administrator at 201-444-4625.
