About us
Explore the rich tapestry of our history, values, and mission as we journey together in faith and community at Community Church of Glen Rock.
History and Overview
Community Church of Glen Rock has a rich history dating back to its inception in 1895 as the Reformed Church of Glen Rock. Initially comprised of just 20 members, the church held its first meetings in private homes before moving to the iconic “Red Schoolhouse” at the corner of Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue. In 1896, a modest yet significant milestone was reached with the construction of the “Little White Church,” symbolizing the beginning of a longstanding commitment to spiritual growth and community engagement.
Throughout the decades, the church has undergone several expansions and renovations to accommodate its growing congregation and evolving needs. From the construction of the “Stucco Church” in 1924 to the more recent refurbishments in 1994, including the installation of beautiful stained-glass windows,
Community Church of Glen Rock has remained steadfast in its dedication to providing a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and service. Today, as we celebrate over a century of faithfulness, we continue to honor our heritage while embracing the opportunities and challenges of the present moment, guided by our enduring commitment to love, grace, and inclusivity.
