Where Faith Finds Family

Programs & Ministries

Explore the heart of our community through diverse programs and ministries designed to inspire, nurture, and empower individuals of all ages on their spiritual journey.

Children & Youth: Nurturing Our Future

At the Community Church of Glen Rock, we believe in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for our youngest members to explore their faith and grow spiritually. Our programs for children and youth are designed with the goal of making church a place where families can come together, learn, and thrive in their faith journey.

Sunday School

Every Sunday, we invite children of all ages to join us for Sunday School, where they’ll discover the stories of the Bible through interactive lessons, crafts, and activities tailored to their age group. Our curriculum is designed to engage young minds and hearts with the foundational truths of our faith in a fun and accessible way.

Youth Groups

For our older children and teenagers, the Youth Group provides a dynamic and supportive community where they can develop their faith, ask questions, and explore what it means to be a Christian in today’s world. Meetings include discussions, service projects, and social events that foster a strong sense of belonging and purpose.

Family-Oriented Activities

Recognizing the importance of family in spiritual growth, we offer a variety of activities throughout the year that encourage family participation. From our annual picnic and retreats to special worship services and community service opportunities, these events are designed to strengthen the bonds of our church family and create lasting memories.

Adult Ministries: Growing Together in Faith

At the Community Church of Glen Rock, we understand that spiritual growth and fellowship are vital at every stage of life. Our Adult Ministries are designed to offer diverse opportunities for learning, connection, and spiritual deepening in a supportive and welcoming environment. Whether you’re seeking to explore your faith more deeply, meet others with similar interests, or simply find support on your spiritual journey, our programs are tailored to meet you where you are.

Bible Studies

Dive into the richness of Scripture through our various Bible study groups. Meeting throughout the week, these sessions offer a chance to explore biblical texts in depth, discuss their relevance to our lives today, and discover the transformative power of God’s word in a community of fellow seekers.

Small Groups

Our small groups are the heartbeat of our community life, providing a space for personal growth, mutual support, and meaningful connection. Ranging from prayer circles and spiritual formation groups to interest-based gatherings like hiking or arts, there’s a small group that matches your interests and where you can feel at home.

Book Clubs

For those who love to read and discuss thought-provoking literature, our book clubs offer a chance to explore a variety of books from a faith perspective. These gatherings are a time for lively discussion, deep reflection, and the sharing of insights as we seek to understand how the themes we read about can inform and enrich our spiritual lives.

Workshops and Seminars

Periodically, we host workshops and seminars on topics relevant to our faith and daily lives. Led by knowledgeable speakers and leaders, these events are designed to equip you with practical tools for spiritual growth, personal development, and active engagement with the world around us.

Musical expressions

At Community Church of Glen Rock, music serves as a heartfelt tribute to God, with our talents offered joyfully in reverence to the source of all gifts. Our worship services resonate with music, featuring congregational hymns, performances by the Chancel Choir, and the GraceNotes Choir for children.

Additionally, we enrich our services with special music performed by talented instrumentalists and vocalists from the metropolitan area, showcasing a diverse range of musical expressions. Explore the various musical opportunities available at our church.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir warmly welcomes adults and young people from Grade 7 and above to join its ranks. Rehearsals are held on the first Thursday evening of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, and at 9:15 am before the Sunday morning service. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for special occasions like Christmas and Easter.

The choir showcases a diverse repertoire spanning various traditions and periods, presenting a rich musical experience for worshipers. Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or new to singing, the ability to read music is not required; all that’s needed is a passion for music and a willingness to participate. We encourage members to attend rehearsals and services as often as possible, fostering a congenial and friendly environment where everyone feels welcome. Directed by Janet Montroy, the Chancel Choir invites you to join in the joy of making music together.

Grace Notes Choir

Comprising children from Grades 2 through 6, the Grace Notes Choir is a vibrant ensemble dedicated to fostering young musical talent. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings from 11:30 to 12:15 pm, providing a supportive environment for children to learn and grow musically.

Equipped with Orff instruments and Hand Bells, the choir brings a unique and joyful sound to its performances. Directed by Stephanie Beaudoin, the Grace Notes Choir plays an integral role in worship, offering their voices during Advent, on Palm Sunday, and on various occasions throughout the year.

SUPPORT

COUNSELING & VISITATIONS

Personal counseling is available to church members for many areas of need. Pastoral Care is given to those who are ill, homebound, grief stricken, or dealing with personal struggle. The church is in the process of starting up a Stephen Ministry to assist the Senior Pastor in providing counseling care for the needs of the congregation.

In the meantime, we encourage you to set-up an appointment through the office of the Senior Pastor, Rev. Terrence O’Brien. Requests can also be made for home or hospital visits.
